In 2012, Confair Design won 3rd place in the 1st round of the Childhood Obesity Challenge  cosponsored by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  Inspired by the vast potential we see in urban design to support healthy lifestyles, we proposed Designing Healthy Corridors as a plan to transform popular city streets to boost children’s activity levels and consumption of healthy foods while they are traversing paths they often take in everyday life.  Our plan involves a series of incremental changes, 6 steps, from program design through evaluation, which is feasible yet comprehensive enough to make a great impact on children’s health.  Please click here to view the full narrative of our proposal.
